Macintosh "Mac" Robinson became the court clerk in Season 2. Mac is usually quiet and unassuming, but takes pride in reminding Dan whenever he's about to screw up, or rubbing in someone's mistake. A Vietnam vet, Mac married a Vietnamese woman named Quon Le (Denise Kumagai), whose family he helped during the war, so she could remain in the U.S. This led to a number of family dilemmas, mostly financial. Quon Le apparently thinks money grows on trees and is constantly buying new things. Mac eventually solves their problem while remaining able to keep Harry's court in order, wearing his trademark button-down sweaters and plaid shirts.

Charles Robinson has been acting since the 1960s. He even appeared on the NBC series "Buffalo Bill," the show "Night Court" replaced. Since hanging up his sweater, Charles played Binford Tools CEO Bud Harper during the last couple years of ABC's "Home Improvement." He also appeared in the TV-movie "Project ALF," the short-lived series "Buddy Faro," and the movie "Beowulf." Believe it or not, Charles can sing as well. In fact, he was a member of the band Archie Bell and the Drells, who had a hit in the 1960s with "Tighten Up."
